Protecting liner systems and supporting reliable liquid containment.
Pond containment systems are used to store, collect or manage liquids in a controlled way. Whether used for stormwater retention, industrial water storage, wastewater treatment, agricultural ponds or environmental containment, the liner system must remain protected and functional throughout its service life.
Our needle-punched nonwoven geotextiles are used as protection layers in pond containment systems. Installed above, below or on both sides of a liner or geomembrane, the geotextile helps protect the barrier from puncture, abrasion and localised mechanical stress.
During installation and operation, pond liners can be exposed to rough subgrades, sharp stones, aggregate layers, settlement movements and changing water pressure. Without a suitable protection layer, these stresses can damage the liner and reduce the reliability of the containment system.
By acting as a cushioning and protective layer, our geotextiles help preserve liner integrity and contain the water. Depending on the project design, they can also contribute to separation, filtration and drainage around the pond structure.
In pond containment systems, nonwoven geotextiles are commonly installed directly next to the liner or geomembrane. Their exact position depends on the pond design, the type of liquid being contained and the protection requirements of the project.
